Mount journey: from egg to Red Dragon

The whole road of a mount, step by step: hatching, feeding, growing, essences, Ehre recipes and evolution.

Every rider in Return of Legends remembers the day a small egg was put in their hands. Nobody tells you that the egg will one day carry you into Castle War, take hits meant for you, and turn into a Red Dragon. This is that road, step by step.

Chapter 1: The egg

Every mount starts as an egg. Put the egg in your mount slot, then use Oriharukon or Lac powder on it, one at a time. Each powder brings the egg closer to hatching. Between powders the egg needs a little rest; if the game says you have to wait, come back a bit later.

When it is ready, the egg hatches into a baby at level 1 with 10 to 29 vitality and some food in its belly.

NoteVitality is the most important number your mount has. It decides your success chance at Ehre and it is needed to make refined essences. Keep it high.

Chapter 2: Feeding your baby

A mount lives on food. Each mount family eats its own feed. One feed gives the mount 5,000 HP (up to 30,000) and fills its food bar a little. The food bar goes down slowly while you play.

Pig's Feed Dragon Puppy's Feed Smilodon's Feed Horse's Feed Fenrir's Feed Dragon's Feed Helriohdon's Feed Unicorn's Feed Griffin's Feed Fire Tiger's Feed Red Dragon's Feed

The (P) feeds from the shop do the same job.

WarningA mount with 0 HP is dead and cannot be fed. Bring it back with a Revival Horse, or ask the Mount Master in town to cure it.

Chapter 3: Growing up

A baby grows with its own essence (the essence of the same mount). For a baby every essence works: 100% success, one level each time.

Pig's Essence Dragon Puppy's Essence Smilodon's Essence

When the baby reaches its growing level, it becomes an adult on its own:

  • Pig: level 25
  • Tamed Boar: level 35
  • Tamed Wolf: level 45
  • Dragon Puppy: level 55
  • Tamed Bear: level 65
  • Smilodon: level 75
  • Every other mount: level 100

In a hurry? A growth potion turns the baby into the adult right away: level 1, 5,000 HP, and 5 to 20 extra vitality.

TipEach growth potion works only for the mounts written on it. Put your mouse on the potion to see which ones.

Chapter 4: The adult

Now the real training starts. An adult levels with essences too, but it is hard: only 5% success.

Keep a Vitality Potion in your bag when you use an essence. The best one in your bag adds to your chance, and one potion is used on every try, success or fail.

Kapel Length Of Life Recovery Potion Acuban Length Of Life Recovery Potion Menkar Length Of Life Recovery Potion Birago Length Of Life Recovery Potion Usu Length Of Life Recovery Potion Makave Length Of Life Recovery Potion Alperats Length Of Life Recovery Potion
  • Kapel +5%
  • Acuban +10%
  • Mencar +15%
  • Birago +20%
  • Yus +25%
  • Makav +30%
  • Alperath +50% (55% in total)

Used directly on a mount, a Vitality Potion gives 1 to 3 vitality, up to 90.

The + on the essence decides which levels it can raise:

  • +0 essence: mount level 1 to 120
  • +1 essence: level 121 to 130
  • +2 essence: level 131 to 140
  • every next + opens the next 10 levels
WarningFrom level 70, a failed essence on an odd level can cost your mount 1 level and 1 vitality.

Chapter 5: Your mount in battle

While you ride, your mount takes part of every hit for you. Most mounts take 25% of the damage, strong mounts take 30% to 50%, and every 10 levels above 120 adds 1% more (up to 60%). That damage comes out of the mount's HP.

A one-hit of 50,000 damage can take thousands of HP from a mount. That is what Roasted Chicken is for: while it is active, your mount loses only 1/10 of that HP. It also gives +2,000 attack against monsters.

TipTake Roasted Chicken and some feed with you to Castle War, bosses and PK.

Chapter 6: Ehre, the essence maker

Ehre in town turns essences into stronger essences. Three recipes are for mounts.

Mount Essence Upgrade: 250 essences + 1 matching growth potion + 1,000,000 gold become 200 essences of the next mount. It always works.

250Dragon Puppy's Essence+Kapel Growth Potion→200Tamed Bear's Essence

Essence Refinement: this is how you get +1, +2 and higher essences. Put in 1 adult mount of the same kind and your essence stack, and pay 1,000,000 gold. The mount must be at exactly the right level and vitality:

  • +1 essence: mount at level 120 and vitality 10
  • +2 essence: level 130 and vitality 20
  • +3 essence: level 140 and vitality 30 (and so on, +10 each)

The mount and the gold are always used up. The essence stack is kept, and on success the whole stack gets +1. A bigger stack has a better chance:

  • 1 to 10 essences: 1%
  • 11 to 50: 5%
  • 51 to 100: 10%
  • 101 to 150: 20%
  • 151 to 200: 30%
  • 201 to 249: 80%
  • 250: 100%
TipEssences stack up to 250, but only with essences of the same +. Bring a full stack of 250 for a sure success.

Chapter 7: Evolution, the mount tier upgrade

The last step of the road. At Ehre, put in 2 identical adult mounts (same level and same vitality) and 2 matching growth potions, and pay 1,000,000 gold. Your chance is the mount's vitality (up to 90%).

On success you get the next mount of the line. On a fail you get the egg of the next mount, and the road starts again.

The higher tiers need more:

  • With Unicorn potions (Yus): mounts at level 130 and vitality 20
  • With Griffin potions (Makav): level 160 and vitality 50
  • With Alperath potions: level 180 and vitality 70

The first steps:

Dragon Puppy→Tamed Bear→Smilodon Helriohdon

The EV line:

Smilodon→Bareback Horse→Steed→Swift Horse→Harnessed Horse→Parade Horse→Fenrir

The Resis line:

Helriohdon→Bareback Horse→Steed→Swift Horse→Harnessed Horse→Parade Horse→Fauness

Both lines meet at the Dragon, and the road goes on to the Red Dragon:

Dragon→Unicorn→Pegasus→Unisus→Svadilfari Sleipnir→Griffin→Hippogriff→Bloody Griffon→Fire Tiger→Red Dragon
NoteSeason 1: the highest mount level this season is 130. Higher mount levels open in later seasons.
From a small egg to a Red Dragon: every essence, every feed and every potion is a step. Take care of your mount, and it will take care of you.
